Boreas Reborn: Dragon Shifter Romance (In Dragn Protection Book 2) Page 12
The last week had been a nightmare for her. She couldn’t stop thinking about Boreas and the sadness on his face when she’d told him she had to leave. It had broken her heart into a million pieces. He was the only person who had never hurt her. Who had given her nothing but support, happiness, and love. The only person who believed in her. The only person who understood her. And what had she given him in return? Nothing but pain. She’d broken his heart. That’s what she’d done.
She so wanted to see him again. Just one last time. To touch his face, to tell him how sorry she was. How much she loved him. How much she regretted not being with him when she’d had the chance. To tell him she’d never forget him and she’d never forgive herself for hurting him. She’d give anything for one last moment with him, her Boreas, her hero.
She swallowed her tears and walked to the four large, arched windows of her hotel room. She stared at the green of the garden below and tried to calm herself before applying the finishing touches to her make-up.
The hotel where she was staying was just next door to the church, and Dwayne had booked it for the reception. He’d also booked the honeymoon suite for them to stay after the wedding, twenty rooms for their out-of-town guests, and a room for Rainey to get ready. He was getting ready at his parents’ house, which was even more luxurious than the hotel.
The room Rainey was staying at was big and elegant, in a neo-gothic style. There was a sitting area next to the windows with a big cream sofa, two armchairs, and a coffee table, and a four-poster bed took up the other side of the room. In the middle, there was a makeup table with a big mirror.
Rainey sat herself in front of the mirror and had just picked up her powder when the door behind her banged open. She spun around and was greeted by the sight of her parents running toward her.
“Rainey, sweetheart,” her mother cried, and she and her father caught Rainey up in an embrace. “We’re so sorry, baby. We should have listened to you.” She kissed Rainey on the forehead.
“It’s so good to see you, my dear.” Her father stroked her head.
Rainey started shivering and her knees went weak from the shock. She was caught between relief and incomprehension. It was so good to see her parents and to know they were okay. But she couldn’t figure out why Dwayne had released them before the wedding. It wasn’t like him to do the decent thing.
“I’m so happy you’re okay,” Rainey said between tears, still in the arms of both of her parents. “I didn’t know you were coming so soon. Dwayne told me that he’d only let you come back after the wedding. I wasn’t expecting—” Her parents released her from their embrace, and Rainey’s gaze turned to the door of the room where, standing in the doorframe and taking up almost all of it was Boreas. With a gasp, she ran toward him, tears streaming down her face.
He took her in his arms and enveloped her in a passionate embrace. “It’s over,” he whispered in her ear, his voice full of emotion. “It’s all over. You’re free.”
“I don’t understand.” Rainey looked up at him, his face blurry through her tears.
“Dwayne is done. I’ve dealt with him. He’s been arrested for the kidnapping of your parents,” Boreas explained.
She gasped. “Oh, Boreas. I feel like I’m in a dream. This all seems so unreal. I thought I’d never see you again.” She clung to him tight. “I missed you so much.”
“I missed you,” Boreas said and drew her into a kiss.
Rainey’s father cleared his throat behind them. “We’ll give you two some time to yourselves,” he said, and he and Rainey’s mother snuck out of the room.
“Boreas, is this true? Is it really all over?” Rainey looked at him, searching for the answer in his eyes.
“Yes,” Boreas said simply, taking her face in his hands. “It’s over.”
“I’m so sorry for hurting you.” She stroked his face. “It broke my heart.”
“You had no choice,” he said.
“I know. But I hated knowing you were in pain. I hated every single second we spent apart.” She rested her head on his chest with a shudder.
“This feels so good,” Boreas murmured, and they stayed like that for a while, savoring their reunion in each other’s arms.
“You look very sexy with a beard,” Rainey said after a while and Boreas’s lips quirked mischievously. She put her hand on his face and stroked his jaw. “It’s very soft,” she said.
“And you look very sexy when you’re all emotional,” Boreas said. “Do you want to have breakfast or go for a walk?”
“I have a better idea,” Rainey said. “Just wait for me here. I’ll be back in a moment.”
She walked out of the door and ran down the stairs to the reception. Since her room was on the third floor, there was an elevator, but she had no patience to wait for it.
“Hi,” she said to the receptionist, who seemed surprised to see her in her dressing gown. “Can I have the key to the honeymoon suite, please?”
“Of course, Ms. Hampton.” The receptionist said politely and then looked through a little stack of keycards. “There you are.” She handed her the card. “It’s on the last floor. There’s a private elevator, just use the keycard to operate it.”
“Thank you,” Rainey said, and ran back up the stairs to Boreas.
She found him pacing nervously in front of the windows of her room.
“Is everything okay?” he asked, his brow furrowed.
“More than okay.” Rainey smiled at him and grabbed his hand. “Come with me.”
She led him to the elevator and pressed the button for the last floor. A few seconds later, they stepped out of the elevator directly into the honeymoon suite. They were in the middle of a huge and luxurious living room with floor-to-ceiling windows along one of the walls, a fireplace, a big sitting area, and a jacuzzi. Rainey took Boreas’s hand and led him to the bedroom on their left. It was a big, white room with a super king-sized bed in the middle, and a glass ceiling.
“Rainey, we don’t have to hurry into anything,” Boreas said, looking at her.
“I want to, Boreas,” Rainey said. She looked up at him and pressed her palms against his chest. “I want you. And I’ve wanted this for so long.
He drew her into his arms, and she saw a mixture of tenderness and hunger in his eyes, his pupils dilated and his irises glowing golden brown. He lowered his mouth to hers and kissed her, gently at first, and then more fiercely. His mouth moved down and she tilted her head back as his lips and tongue traced a line along her neck and down her collarbone. He slowly slid his right hand up her waistline to her breast and cupped it. She took a deep breath and moaned gently.
“You’re so beautiful, Rainey,” he said, his voice deep and husky.
He unfastened her dressing gown belt slowly and slid the garment down her shoulders, letting it pool at her feet. She felt self-conscious and exposed standing in front of him in her underwear. He pulled his shirt over his head, his biceps bulging at the movement. He looked spectacular—huge, muscular, and strong. His chest was smooth with big, bulky pecs, and heaving with his quick, short breaths. Rainey put her hands on the button of his jeans and felt a burst of arousal at the sight of his shaft straining against the fabric. She pulled his jeans down, her hands trembling, and gaped at the sight of him standing in front of her in his boxers, his cock long and rock-hard.
He took her in his arms again and laid her gently on the bed, kissing her shoulders. He unfastened her bra, took her right nipple in his mouth, and licked it hungrily before moving onto the next one and sucking it. Her nipples were so sensitive and swollen with arousal, and his licks were sending jolts of electricity to the spot between her legs, which was aching for his touch.
With his mouth still on her breasts, he slid a hand into her panties, and his middle finger circled around her clit, gliding on her wetness, making the ache inside her grow deeper and deeper. He bit her nipple gently and moved his finger down to her entrance, sliding up and down her labia, teasing at her opening.
> She felt lightheaded with her desire for him, the ache between her legs stronger than ever. She wanted him there, deep inside her, filling her up.
“Please,” she moaned, her breath coming in short gasps. “I want you.”
He heaved himself up and pulled his boxers down, his cock springing out. The sight of it made her pussy throb. He lowered himself on top of her and kissed her lips, his mouth soft and hungry, and his big hard cock pressing against her belly. There was a burning emptiness between her legs, and she was craving him to fill it up.
He took his cock with his right hand and slid it up and down her labia, making her even crazier with desire for him. She moaned, willing him to ease the fire inside her. When he gently placed the tip of his cock at her entrance, she held her breath, preparing herself for him.
He looked into her eyes, a question hovering in the air.
“Now,” she breathed, unable to say more.
Boreas entered her gently, filling her up with his thick, long cock. He started moving in and out of her, slowly and tenderly, and Rainey cried out at every stroke, her muscles spasming around his shaft. His breath was harsh and ragged, and his movements became quicker and hungrier, sending blissful sensations through her whole body. She felt her orgasm starting to build with a wild force, and she wrapped her arms around his back and drew him toward her, pushing him deep inside as they both exploded in a powerful climax.
Boreas collapsed on top of her, breathing heavily. “That was incredible,” Boreas said, planting kisses on her face.
“It was incredible for me, too,” Rainey said and put her face in the crook of his neck, losing herself in the moment, the waves of pleasure still traveling through her body as she lay in Boreas’s arms.
Epilogue
Rainey
Two months later
“You’ve been working too hard.” Boreas stood behind Rainey in the kitchen of their cabin and wrapped his arms around her waist. “Come back to bed,” he whispered in her ear and kissed her neck.
Rainey giggled. “I got up only ten minutes ago and I had the best sleep ever, so I’m full of energy.” Her insomnia had completely disappeared in the past few weeks, and she’d been sleeping as normally as anyone.
“I know a way you can use up all that excess energy,” he murmured, doing his best to tug her back to the bedroom. She let him guide her, but when she reached their bed, she frowned at the sight of a letter laying on her pillow. “What’s this?”
He sat on the bed, drew her into his arms and passed it to her. “I took the liberty of opening it when I saw who the sender was,” he said.
Rainey scanned it and flung her arms around his neck. “Oh, my God!” she shouted. “I’ve been accepted!”
“Congratulations!” Boreas exclaimed, and he got to his feet and spun her around.
“I can’t believe it!” Rainey’s heart was racing in her chest. “I’m so happy I could burst!”
Boreas smiled hugely. “And I’m so happy and excited for you, baby. And so proud of you.”
“I can’t wait to share the news with everyone this afternoon.” Rainey’s face hurt from grinning so much, and when he put her down, she jumped from one foot to the other like an excitable goat.
“Let’s have a little toast before that,” he said and disappeared into the kitchen.
Rainey gasped when he returned with a bottle of champagne. Where have you been hiding that?”
He shrugged. “Behind the stack of soda cans.” He poured two glasses and handed one of them to her. “Here’s to the most talented and amazing year-five student of architecture,” he said and clinked his glass against hers.
“It’s all thanks to you for encouraging me to apply. I would have never done it without your support,” she said. “I can’t wait to start school!”
“You’ll be brilliant, baby,” he said, stroking her cheek.
She put her glass down and laid back on the pillows. “Now, what were you saying about doing some exercise?”
A sexy smile played on his lips, and at the sight of the wild hunger that bloomed his eyes, she shuddered. He unfastened her dressing gown belt, and opened it wide, baring her to his gaze. As his eyes ran over her breasts, he made a deep sound in his throat.
“You are so beautiful,” he murmured, his voice low and growly.
He stripped off his T-shirt and jeans and crouched over her, before gently drawing her left nipple into his mouth. His tongue circled around it, flicking over the tip, and he sucked and bit gently as Rainey moaned in ecstasy, the ache between her legs growing deeper and deeper. He took her right breast in his left hand, gently pinching her hard nipple between his fingers.
Then his mouth moved away from her breast, down her chest and belly. He put his hands on the inside of her thighs and pushed gently to spread her legs. She tensed at first, but then relaxed as his tongue flicked over her clit. She could feel his hunger for her as he sucked and licked her sensitive spot. His tongue was gentle and firm, circling around her clit, in slow rhythmic moves, building the tension and arousal inside her. She tugged his hair and muttered his name, her hips jerking back and forth, and it wasn’t long before her body shuddered and she exploded in a powerful orgasm.
“You’re a god,” Rainey said, some minutes later. “A beautiful dragon god.” And then she rolled on top of him, lowered her head to his crotch, and gently took him in her mouth.
Rainey’s phone chirped with a new message as they were recovering from blissful orgasms and sipping the champagne.
“It’s from my parents,” she said. “They’re leaving now, so they should be here within an hour or so.”
“I guess I better get going with the preparations then. I’ll go and start the barbecue,” Boreas said.
They were hosting a barbecue that afternoon, and they’d invited her parents who hadn’t been to the island yet. The last two months had been hectic with Boreas working hard in the agency and on the construction project and Rainey reclaiming her life after her breakup from Dwayne, making plans for the future and moving to the island. The time had flown by, but not because they’d had so much to do. It was because time flew when she was with Boreas. Her days had been so happy and full, and his presence in her life made her feel joy even at the smallest things. She had never thought that happiness like that was possible. But now she had it, and she had her Boreas, and she was going to fight for their happiness forever.
“Some of the meat is already on the barbecue,” Boreas said, a while later, when he entered their bedroom where Rainey was just putting on a red short-sleeve blouse. “Your parents have just arrived, so I’ll go and pick them up from the beach.”
“Thank you. I’ll keep an eye on the barbecue,” Rainey said and went over to the communal area.
Most of the dragons were already there, hanging around, chatting and laughing. Eurus handed her a beer and said cheers to her.
“It’s a beautiful day for a barbecue,” Notus said.
“It really is,” Rainey said and looked at the blue, cloudless sky, smiling.
She turned the meat on the barbecue and had just put some corn cobs on the side of the grill when she spotted Caden approaching at a slow pace. He stood next to the barbecue and fiddled with the sleeve of his shirt, avoiding Rainey’s eyes.
“I am glad you are here,” he said finally. “I was wrong about you. You’re pretty cool.” He looked down at his shoes. “And I’m really sorry for everything. I hope you can forgive me one day.”
“I’m glad to hear that,” Rainey said. She appreciated his sentiment. He wasn’t the type of person who apologized easily, and the gesture must have taken a lot for him. She extended her drink to him, inviting a clink of bottles as a sign of reconciliation, but Caden ignored her outstretched hand and drew her into a hug instead before walking away quickly.
“Did I just see Caden hugging you?” Rainey heard Boreas’s voice behind her.
“Yes,” She said, turning to face him. “He’s just apologized to me and told me
that he thinks I’m cool.” She raised an eyebrow.
“It’s about time,” Boreas replied. “Your parents are just settling in the guest cabin. They’ll stay for the night.”
“Oh, good. I’ll go and say hello.”
“I’ll come with you,” Boreas said, following her.
They walked to the guest cabin where her parents were standing on the doorstep and waving to her.
“Welcome to the island,” she said and gave them each a kiss on the cheek.
They both looked emotional, and she was just about to ask them why when they stepped away from the door, and her sister, Ophelia, came out of the cabin.
“Oh, my God,” Rainey whispered, and tears instantly filled her eyes.
Her sister ran toward her, and they wrapped their arms around each other, tears streaming down their faces, their bodies shaking.
“It’s so good to see you,” Ophelia said. “I’ve missed you so much.”
“You too. You too,” Rainey said, wiping the tears from her eyes.
“I’m sorry I never got in touch. It was just too difficult,” Ophelia explained.
“I understand. You’re here now.” She smiled at her sister. “That’s what matters.”
“We called her,” her mother explained. “And we apologized. She’s been so gracious to accept our apology.” Her mother’s lip trembled with her emotion.
“Rainey, I’d like you to meet Ethan,” Ophelia said and looked toward the man who was standing next to her parents. Rainey saw an older version of the boy she’d last seen more than ten years ago. He was tall with a short dark curly hair and light brown eyes, and he had a friendly smile and a dimple in his chin.
